Dato Paduka Haji Mohd Hamid bin Haji Mohd Jaafar, a distinguished economist educated at the University of Portsmouth, is a prominent figure in Brunei Darussalam’s diplomatic and governmental landscape. He has held the position of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources as well as the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
Dato Hamid has also held key roles as Ambassador to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva. In addition, he has contributed significantly as a board member in various government and private entities, extending his influence across organizations such as Brunei Shell, Petroleum Brunei, Royal Brunei Airlines, Semaun Holding (aquaculture), Solartech (solar energy), Mahkota Crystal, Jerambak (agri-food), the Brunei Development Bank, the Brunei Economic Development Council, the Brunei Tourism Board and the Sungai Liang Park Authority.
