Meeting with Brazilian Congress Members to Advance Amazon Conservation
As part of a significant effort to strengthen strategic alliances in Brazil, our CEO, Héctor José Orea, and our Director, Angel Meza, held a meeting with Congresswoman Gleisi Hoffmann, President of the Workers’ Party (PT), and Congressman Vander Loubet. The visit focused on the Environmental Conservation Project for Quilombolas Communities, the most ambitious environmental initiative in the world, dedicated to the preservation of the Brazilian Amazonia.
During this visit, Héctor José Orea stated: “Our shared mission is to unite efforts in protecting over 30 million hectares of the Amazon rainforest, combating the effects of climate change, and empowering Quilombolas Communities. Together, we aim to enhance their quality of life, safeguard their cultural heritage, and foster sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring a brighter and more equitable future for all. This project, led by Oreasoc Agriculture Inc., part of the conglomerate of companies of Oreasoc Group, is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), significantly contributing to the preservation of the Amazon’s biodiversity.”
This meeting marks an important step in consolidating public-private relationships, which are essential to advancing initiatives that not only focus on environmental conservation but also foster sustainable development and social inclusion in Brazil.
