On September 22, 2025, the European Commission announced €76.3 million in CEF Energy funding to support three cross-border renewable energy (CB RES) projects aimed at strengthening regional cooperation and accelerating clean energy deployment. The selected initiatives include the Unified Network for Innovative Transition in Energy Decarbonisation of HEATing (Poland–Germany), which will interconnect renewable-based district heating systems; the ULP-RES Wind Park (Estonia–Latvia), a 200 MW onshore wind farm enhancing regional power generation; and the Saare-Liivi Offshore Wind Park (Estonia–Luxembourg), which will conduct pre-construction studies for up to 1.2 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2033.
These projects reflect the EU’s commitment to advancing cross-border renewable energy infrastructure while contributing to its 2030 climate and energy goals. By fostering collaboration between Member States, the CB RES program supports innovation, reduces emissions, and ensures more resilient and integrated energy systems across Europe.
