Azerbaijan has launched its first floating solar power plant on Lake Boyukshor near Baku, marking a major step in the country’s renewable energy efforts. The project, funded by the Asian Development Bank, includes 100-kilowatt capacity and will generate over 160,000 kilowatt-hours annually. The initiative aligns with Azerbaijan’s green energy goals ahead of hosting COP29, as the country seeks to reduce carbon emissions by 40% by 2050.
