Fertilizer Prices Drop Significantly in September 2024, According to DTN

In the second week of September 2024, fertilizer prices in the retail market experienced a significant drop, led by potash, which decreased by 8% compared to the previous month, with an average price of $464 per ton. Other fertilizers, such as UAN32 and 10-34-0, also showed declines of 7%, standing at $351 and $596 per ton, respectively. This decline marks the first major price drop in eight weeks, which could bring relief to farmers after the price increases of the past few years.
The only fertilizer to experience a slight increase was anhydrous ammonia, whose price rose just $1 to $676 per ton. Overall, the downward trend in fertilizer prices reflects a more stable market after the volatility that characterized recent years.
