Emerging markets, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, are showing strong growth in demand for sustainably certified agricultural commodities. This trend is driven by rising environmental awareness, increasing incomes, and urbanization. According to Erika Luna, a policy analyst at the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), commodities such as coffee, palm oil, cotton, and sugar cane have significant growth potential in these regions. The Asia-Pacific cocoa market, in particular, is expanding at a compound annual growth rate of 9.62% through 2030, highlighting the region’s rapid adoption of sustainable agricultural practices.
