Saudi Aramco Acquires 25% Stake in Unioil Petroleum Philippines

Saudi Aramco has signed an agreement to acquire a 25% stake in Unioil Petroleum Philippines, marking a significant step in expanding its presence in the Asian fuel market. Unioil, a well-established player in the Philippine energy sector since 1966, operates 165 service stations and four fuel storage terminals across the country.

The acquisition aligns with Aramco’s broader downstream growth strategy, aiming to strengthen its retail network and enhance fuel distribution capabilities in high-growth markets. As part of the agreement, Aramco plans to introduce its premium fuel and lubricant products, including Valvoline-branded lubricants, at selected Unioil service stations.

The move follows Aramco’s recent expansions in Chile and Pakistan and reflects the company’s strategy to capitalize on the rising demand for high-quality fuel products in the Philippines. By leveraging Unioil’s existing infrastructure, Aramco aims to solidify its foothold in Southeast Asia’s growing energy market while ensuring a reliable and diversified fuel supply chain for the region.
