World Bank Doubles Agribusiness Commitment to $9B Annually

The World Bank Group announced plans to double its annual commitments to agribusiness and agricultural financing to $9 billion by 2030. This initiative aims to address the projected 60% increase in global food demand in the coming decades and focuses on reshaping the agribusiness landscape through climate change mitigation, financial innovations, digitalization, and reducing market fragmentation.

World Bank Group President Ajay Banga emphasized the need for a holistic approach, stating that this commitment aspires to create a comprehensive ecosystem that supports smallholder farmers, improves logistics, and addresses global food challenges.
