Yeongcheon City Launches 2026 Organic Fertilizer Program with Record Investment

Yeongcheon City announced the launch of its 2026 organic fertilizer supply program, aimed at promoting environmentally friendly, natural circulation agriculture and the production of high-quality, safe agricultural products. The project has a total budget of 3.255 billion won, including an additional 966 million won in municipal funding, representing the largest investment in organic fertilizer support since 2020.

Fertilizer allocations were finalized by the Organic Fertilizer Supply Management Council in December, with supply levels increased to 95% of the requested amounts, significantly improving farmer satisfaction. The program targets registered agricultural management entities and includes five types of fertilizers: three organic fertilizers (mixed oil cake, mixed organic, and organic compound) and two matured organic fertilizers (livestock manure compost and general compost).

City officials emphasized that the expanded budget will help reduce farm management costs, stabilize farm incomes, and strengthen the local economy. The initiative is also positioned as a key step toward reducing reliance on chemical fertilizers and advancing sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
