Mr. Hector Orea is a senior civil engineering professional with extensive international experience in the development and management of large-scale infrastructure projects. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master Degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). His professional background is complemented by specialized international programs in Port and Harbour Engineering in Japan and Fishing Port Administration in Scotland, providing a well-rounded technical foundation and a strong global perspective.

Over the course of his career, Mr. Orea has been actively involved in the planning, execution, and supervision of complex infrastructure initiatives across multiple regions. His experience includes participation in major projects for the Florida Department of Transportation, comprehensive road rehabilitation programs and significant maritime infrastructure developments. Among these are his Venezuelan contributions to feasibility study, design and construction of the International Port of Güiria, Brine Plant in Lake Maracaibo, Venezuela, projects recognized for their technical complexity and long-term operational importance.

In parallel, Mr. Orea has contributed to public-sector emergency and resilience efforts. Since 2019, he has served as part of the Consulting, Engineering, and Inspections team supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), technical evaluations and decision-making processes in high-impact and time-sensitive environments.

As Vice Chairman of Oreasoc Group Inc., Mr. Orea provides strategic guidance grounded in decades of engineering practice and infrastructure management. His role focuses on strengthening technical standards, supporting executive leadership, and contributing to the Group’s long-term vision across projects involving logistics, natural resources, and large-scale assets.
